Buy one pair of expensive jeans and they will solve most, if not all, of your problems.
I know it is extremely hard to spend $150-$200 (especially if you thrive on finding a deal) on one pair of jeans but it will pay off in the end when you no longer have to worry about what to wear to a bachelorette party, a first date, a concert etc. Wearing expensive jeans will signal to the viewer that you know what you are doing even if you don’t.
Note: always assume that people are looking at you and what you are wearing
Not all brands will automatically look good on you. For example, I cannot for the life of me squeeze my thighs into anything that Diesel makes. Personally, I like Seven for All Mankind and Adriano Goldschmied (AGs) but there are tons of brands out there for you to choose from. Always be sure to try them on and pay careful attention to the pocket placement (more on this in future blogs). Whenever possible shop with an honest friend.
Remember that these jeans typically come in one length and you will most likely have to have them hemmed. Unless you can do this on your own, run to a tailor and have them hemmed with the original hem. I like to wear mine with heels so I bring a representative pair with me when I go to the tailor.
Buy new and try to get a deal:
You can find multiple brands in major stores like Macy’s but you can also buy them at TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and Nordstrom Rack.
If you live in Minnesota try:
Len Druskin’s sale store at the Southdale Mall in Edina
Buy used and be picky:
I like to find them second-hand but this can sometimes be tricky. Most used jeans will already be hemmed for the person who owned them before you.
In Minnesota try these stores:
Everyday People Clothing Exchange
Wear them often and wear them out. Buy a second pair and repeat. Happy shopping!
