When your skin disappoints you again

Every once in a while one of my overly observant co-workers takes one look at me and says, “are you ok?” ┬áThis is not what I want to hear when I walk into the office. I take this to mean that my face has let me down again and I must look tired, gray, or maybe even red. So, what’s a girl to do?

When I am being smart (rather than hurt and overly sensitive) I make a potion to smear on my face when I get home. This is an edible potion to boot! The recipe comes from Three Black Skirts: All You Need To Survive, by Anna Johnson. Although I may have outgrown parts of this book, I still like it and read it from time to time.

Anyhoo…the potion:

All you need is:

  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt

Mix this together, smear it onto a make-up free face, hang out for a bit, and then rinse it off with cool or lukewarm water. Pat dry.

All better! Take that overly observant co-worker!

This usually makes me feel rosy and fresh-faced. I may look a little better but I feel a lot better. This may have something to do with the fact that I make way more than I need so I can eat the remaining yogurt potion while watching T.V.
